Game Birds
You do not need any kind of mathematical ability to appreciate
the immense fascination of Perplexing Poultry tiles. Everyone can
enjoy them equally, although, as with most things of this type,
you may find that children between the ages of nine and 16 have
a natural flair for them.
Gamebirds is the 'Bantam' Penrose Puzzle and contains 40 chicken
pieces (25 hens and 15 roosters), plus 5 dogs. The playing board
is included within the packaging, and the pieces are assembled inside
a sunken circular region 10.5 inches (26.5cm) in diameter. For the
traveller, the game can be interrupted and resumed without disturbing
the partly finished puzzle.
The aim is to completely cover the circular playing area with interlocking
pieces leaving no gaps or protrusions. There is only one solution
using all the chickens, but increasing challenges appear as the
dog pieces are introduced. With 6 different levels to achieve and
23 different solutions, the Gamebirds puzzle offers hours of deliberation
as you fathom your way through.
